Canada issued 1.39 lakh study permits to Indian students in 2019 which is an increase of whopping 68% over the same period in 2018. As per a recent report, Canada issued a total of around 400,000 study permits in 2019 out which India accounted for 34% study permits (139,000) followed by China at 21% (84,710).
Year on year, there has been a steady increase of study permits. In 2018, Canada issued a total of 355,000 study permits while in 2019 this number increased to 400,000.

Canada's Express Entry program awards extra points for Canadian study and work experience which translates to higher CRS points thereby helping students get permanent residence in the country.
