Immiboards ― Canada has invited 462 PNP Candidates in Express Entry draw 197 on July 21, 2021. The Comprehensive Ranking Score cut-off dropped to 734 points compared to the previous PNP draw of 760.

This means that candidates needed a CRS score of at least 734 points to receive an invitation from this draw.

The cut-off score is higher because IRCC targeted this draw towards candidates having a provincial nomination. Only the candidates from the Provincial Nominee Program were eligible for this round of invitations.

Provincial nominees get 600 additional points in the Express Entry profile.

On June 23, 2021, the last PNP Draw was held and compared to it, we see a decrease in candidates who received an invitation in this draw. There were 462 invitees this time around compared to 627 from the previous draw.

Express Entry Draw 197

ITA issued to 462candidates under the “Provincial Nominee Program”. The minimum CRS points required were 734 points. The tie break date was April 11, 2021 at 10:56:32 UTC

PNP and CEC Draws to continue

With Canada still grappling with pandemic travel restrictions, it appears that the goal is to invite those already living in-country.

Canada has been inviting only PNP and CEC candidates this year. There doesn't seem to be a need for an open draw since the pandemic travel restrictions have kept people out of Canada anyway, but later this year they might consider doing it all again and start inviting outland candidates.

The Canadian border has started to reopen for those who are fully vaccinated, U.S. travellers in August and all other countries by September this year with exception of India which is still closed until the end of August due to coronavirus-related measures currently underway there as well.

Canada is looking to increase the number of immigrants they welcome annually, and have a goal of 1.2 million in three years! This year alone 94,304 invitations were sent out with this draw.

With only five months left until 2021 draws to a close, one wonders if Canada will be able to meet the immigration goals for the current year.

Express Entry

Canada ranks Express Entry candidates in the pool using a points-based system called the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). About every 2 weeks, IRCC invites the top candidates in the pool to apply for permanent residence during rounds of invitations.
