CEC Express Entry Draws have crossed 97k invitations so far in 2021

The number of invitations via Express Entry Draw this year has reached a milestone of 105,779 out of which the Canadian Experience Class accounts for 92% invitations at 97,653.

PNP and CEC Draws continue the trend

With Canada still grappling with pandemic travel restrictions, it appears that the goal is to invite those already living in-country.

Canada has been inviting only PNP and CEC candidates this year. There doesn't seem to be a need for an open draw since the pandemic travel restrictions have kept people out of Canada anyway, but later this year they might consider doing it all again and start inviting outland candidates.

Canada is looking to increase the number of immigrants they welcome annually, and have a goal of 1.2 million in three years! This year alone 105,779 invitations were sent out with this draw.

Express Entry

Canada ranks Express Entry candidates in the pool using a points-based system called the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). About every 2 weeks, IRCC invites the top candidates in the pool to apply for permanent residence during rounds of invitations.
