OTTAWA ― Canada resumed FSW draws starting today. In Express Entry draw# 226, Canada invited 1500 candidates to apply for PR on July 6, 2022.

Canadian immigration minister Sean Fraser had earlier said that Canada will resume FSW and CEC draws by early July this year.

  • Express Entry Draw# 226
  • Date: 6-Jul-22
  • Immigration program: No program specified
  • Invitations issued 1500
  • CRS cutoff 557

FSW draws have resumed after a gap of almost 1.5 years. The last FSW draw was held on December 23, 2020. After that IRCC has mostly focused on CEC and PNP candidates. Eventually it stopped inviting CEC candidates as well in late 2021 and focusing solely on PNP invitations.

Canada was looking at normalizing the draws and the immigration minister had expressed confidence that things will go back to normal starting July.

High Cutoff

As expected, the cut off for Express Entry draw 226 broke all records for a All Program Draw. The CRS cut off was a massive 557 points and included CEC candidates as well. This was in line with our earlier projection in our blog titled Will Canadian CRS Score For Immigration Go Down In 2022? where we forecasted that the CRS Cut-Off will not go down below 500 for foreseeable future.

The current CRS Score candidate distribution is as below:

CRS score rangeNumber of candidates
601-1200669
501-6008,773
451-50058,040
491-5004,670
481-4908,227
471-48017,617
461-47015,522
451-46012,004
401-45054,735
441-45011,339
431-44011,957
421-4309,213
411-42010,609

351-40065,460
301-35034,000
0-3005,172

CRS Distribution 6 July 2022

As we can see there are more than 9000 candidates in the pool with a CRS score of 501 or higher, hence the cut offs will remain high for the remainder of 2022.
