Ontario OINP invites 1408 tech workers

OTTAWA ― On October 27, 2021, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) invited 1408 tech candidates for permanent residency under Human Capital Priorities Stream. This is Ontario’s biggest PNP draw of the year 2021.

OINP invited tech workers with the below designations in this draw:

Key points:

  • This was a targeted nomination draw for tech workers for candidates who qualify for Ontario Express Entry Human Capital Priorities (HCP) Stream
  • Express Entry profile was required beforehand
  • Comprehensive ranking system score range was between 455 and 467 points
  • Minimum one year work experience under any one of the above NOC codes
  • Candidates must submit their application within 45 calendar days through the OINP e-Filing Portal
  • Application fee is CA$ 1500

These candidates had active profiles in the Ontario Expression of Interest (EOI) system.

OINP streams that are accepting applications

OINP is currently accepting applications under the following streams:

  • French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream
  • Human Capital Priorities stream
  • Skilled Trades stream
  • Entrepreneur stream

The following OINP streams are currently open through the OINP EOI (Expression of Interest) system :

  • Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker stream
  • Employer Job Offer: International Student stream
  • Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills stream
  • Masters Graduate stream
  • PhD Graduate stream

The Foreign Worker Stream allows foreign workers to apply for an OINP nomination for living and working in Ontario.

Such workers are required to have a job offer in a skilled occupation at Skill Type 0 or Skill Level A/B of the National Occupational Classification [NOC]

The International Student stream, on the other hand, is for international students with a job offer in a skilled occupation at Skill Type 0 or Skill Level A/B of the NOC.

Annual nomination limits

Each year, the federal government allocates a fixed number of nominations to the Ontario government (OINP) through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)

In 2021, Ontario has received an allocation of 8,350 plus an additional 250 nominations for temporary foreign workers in intermediate skilled occupations (NOC Skill Level C).

Ontario had issued 7,849 nominations as of October 14, 2021. Latest invitations:
